We offer airline transport services to different destinations in many countries of the world through cargo transportation carried out at Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport, which are responsible for the most of the local and international flight traffic.
Airfreight
First of all, the type, weight and size of the material should be known.
The material type is necessary to identify which transport fee tariff is to be used depending on the product type as designated by the airport. In case of a general cargo, a certain tariff is used while different tariffs are for hazardous substances, valuable cargos or shipments of live animals etc. The material size is necessary to check how it is to get into the airplane and, inspect the volume and weight.
How to Calculate the Airfreight?
Here is an example:
Quantity: 100
Size: 60x40x40 (each)
Weight: 15 kg (each) for a textile cargo.
We should first check if a cargo is to be shipped according to its own weight or volumetric weight, and then find the weight for the fee.
Volumetric size calculation:
Normal weight: 100x15 = 1500 Kg
Volumetric weight: 100 x 40 x 60 x 40 = 9,6000,000 / 6,000 = 1,600 Kg
Volumetric weight > Normal weight,
In this case, the weight for the fee will be the volumetric weight.
Let’s assume that the fee based on the weight exceeding 1,000 kg is USD 1.10 per kg on the general cargo tariff for airfreight to the destination of London.
In this case:
Freight: 1600 kg x 1.10 USD = USD 1,760
Other Charges:
Bills of Lading Fees: (AWA & MOC) USD 100
Additional Fees: USD 110
Total: USD 1,970 (this airfreight is based on the general cargo tariff from airport to airport.)
